Ian McDonald, the personality behind the popular vegetarian podcast The Vegan Option, is taking his passion for radio and veganism one step further with a new series on the history of vegetarianism. The new series, which will air in ten parts, will be a comprehensive history of what Ian found to be a much bigger topic than originally anticipated – it turns out there's quite the story behind eschewing animal products!
The presenter is nothing if not thorough in his work (which you can witness by listening to his program on London station Resonance 104.4FM or on theveganoption.org), and this is The Vegan Option's biggest project to date. The production of such an extensive program takes a lot of time, skill and, you guessed it, money. Due to the size of the show's new undertaking, and in order to do the topic justic, Ian needs to raise some funds to cover production costs.
To raise these funds Ian has launched a campaign with the crowd funding resource Kickstarter, and seen a third of the project goal reached within two days of the campaign's launch. Supporters of the show are donating from around the world to help Ian move forward with the new series, and those generous enough to do so can choose from a selection of awards based on donation levels.
The History Of Vegetarianism: The Story So Far is, to put it bluntly, a really neat project. Please consider donating a few quid to Ian's Kickstarter campaign to help him produce this unique new radio series.
