Travel tips: eyedropper gin

A few weeks ago my mother rang me to ask if she could bring (read: smuggle) alcohol on an upcoming flight. I chuckled before I realised she was serious, and then I continued to laugh.

“Mom, there are rules in place for carrying liquids through security, and TSA are particularly unforgiving.”

“But what if I can fit it inside a ziploc baggy?” she inquired.

So I googled it, and lo and behold there's a subset of the air bound population maxing out their liquids limit by stuffing as many miniatures as possible into a small plastic bag.

But my mother wasn't about to spend out on miniatures, not when she already had alcohol at home, and certainly not when she had a number of 3 ounce bottles in her possession.

Gin in eyedropper bottle
My mom is almost as classy as I am. Almost.

And that, my friends, is how my mom came to get three 3 ounce eyedropper bottles of gin through security in her bag.

The same bag that she put in the bin and couldn't access throughout the entire flight.
